Meet the Owners

Although they attended the same high school and college, 16 Mile owners, Brett McCrea and Chad Campbell never knew each other growing up. However, both believed that Sussex County offered them something unique - a safe place to raise their young families and an area perfect for a new business that celebrates old traditions, while creating new ones.

After Brett completed his studies at Washington College (Chestertown, Maryland) and the University of Pittsburgh, he embarked on a ten year career in the US government, working in the field of counterterrorism. Despite the excitement and challenge of his daily work, he tired quickly of the DC traffic and longed to return to Sussex County.

Chad also graduated from Washington College with a degree in Chemistry and coursework in business. His professional background includes private banking, real estate and teaching science. 16 Mile Brewing company was the ultimate joint venture - a way to capitalize on Chad and Brett's unique skills and background AND their passion for great beer.
