The Brew House

Located just one mile south of the Circle in Georgetown, the 16 Mile Brewing Company sits in a low-rise unassuming building amid untamed grounds. The building, which dates from the early 1900's, retains much of its original agricultural charm. 16 Mile owners, Brett and Chad, realized that using the existing structure, rather than creating a brand new facility, would allow them to create their brewery dreams in short order. With help from family and friends, they stripped the building down to the core, redesigned the inside walls, and installed recycled building products in the office and storage spaces.
The new brewing facility was designed to be as compact and energy-efficient as possible. After extensive research, 16 Mile chose Newlands Systems Incorporated (Abbottsford, BC) to engineer and construct a 15bbl brewhouse to fit the existing structure. This brand new system incorporates a low pressure, high efficiency steam boiler to limit energy usage. With additional 30bbl fermenters in place, 16 Mile will be able to keep the beer flowing during the peak summer season and beyond.
